I assume you are the son of John (?) Thorpe. They were in (at least) the first of the GHYC Jack and Jill race and there picture is in the slide show.
I just refreshed the Gig Harbor hailing port on my transom, yesterday, in Amsterdam. Give my very best regards to your parents. Fond memories. I believe they lived just down the street from me on Goodman Drive,when I rented a cabin on the Bay in 1991/1993.
