We had an unusual colorful sunrise before the fog set in.
John and Jen took me back to the anchorage in Glorietta Bay. I avoided blowing up my dinghy to get to shore last Wdnesday and received a ride from the Seattle couple, Jeff and Cathy, and managed to hitch a ride back from the boat ramp. I got back to the Police guest dock at 8 p.m. Now I have to get ready for this afternoon’s kick-off party for the Baja Ha-Ha.
Be sure to check out last Wednesday’s Lectronic Latitude-38.
This is the caption with the photo:
If you don’t know Jack — Jack van Ommen — you’re going to want to meet him at the Ha-Ha Kick-Off Party on Sunday. He’s the epitome of how much cruising you can do with so little.

Jack: Just finished reading SoloMan. Incredible journey. Linda and I met your at Encinal Yacht Club at poolside this past early October. That’s when I bought your book. My eyes are bleary this morning after finishing up that few pages late last night.
Linda and I visited Holland and Belgium this past Spring…so I recall some of the locations that you note in your book. I was also in Vietnam in 1967-68 stationed at MACV Hq our at Ton su Nut….so many memories of my time in Vietnam.
Will be following you on your blog as your journey continues.
Russ Grant
Thanks Grant, Glad to have you and Linda along. I had a very nice short stay at The Encinal YC a month ago.
