It rained steady for most of the night and it kept drizzling off and on most of the day. But we have been promised clearing and the barometer is going the right direction. I just talked to Dirk Jan and he’ll be here Friday evening. I dug out the surplus sail inventory and piled them on the house for Dirk jan to store in Amsterdam and my life raft, books, and a few miscellaneous items, to give us more space and bring the water line up. I did two loads of laundry in the laundromat. I hand washed the covers of the two bunks and I could not believe the dirt that came out of it.

So, here are the picture of the bicycles. I am going to look and see if I can find one of these sixties beauties again here or in Liege.

    Hello Jack
Always a pleasure to read your blog and now your excellent article in Wooden Boat about the Botters.

I have a technical question for you. Does Fleetwood have an overflow tube connected to the diesel tank ?

Je. continue à te lire et te souhaite bonne route.

p.s. would it be good idea to write about the Naja in Wooden Boat ?

    Bonjour Roger de Paris,
You have a rain-check for another opportunity to come join me. I am sure that I have the same tank system as your NAJA. There is no over flow tube, but if the nozzle of the fpump handle is stuck all the way into the tank the automatic shutoff avoids spillage. But I still keep a bunch of paper towels at the ready. I assume you are not taalking about the fuel return line from the injectors to the fuel tank, which we both should have.

The replacement of “Bonita” ‘s teak deck and the interior remodel would make a very worthwhile article for a magazine like Wooden Boat or a similar magazine. Because you have excellent pictures and I have seldom seen such professional and innovative work done. I myself would not write it but I can assist with any NAJA details. I am seriously considering removing my teak deck this winter in Holland and will want to use some of the tricks that were used on “Bonita” and I’m sure that others would benefit by this as well.
