Today we toured the ruins of the actual Angkor Wat, the largest of the many different temples. The next most well known is Angkor Tom, which was our second stop; followed by another 4 ruins. It is still difficult to describe the emotions that I felt walking through these grounds where once a civilization reigned, between the 7th and 14th century. which built the largest structures in the world.
Tomorrow we fly from here to Vientiane, Laos. We plan to stay there a couple days and then bus to Luang Prabang about which we hear all very high praises from fellow travellers.
