Jack,You may not be a hero to the golfers at the Pentagon. But you are a very brave man to me Spanning the entire Pacific ocean in a little wooden boat takes far more courage than many are aware of.Stormy weather and the greatest monsters on our planet lurk beneath the blue sea that can swallow that little boat in one gulp. In my little book of heroes you rank right up there among the top. I marked you down above John Wayne and Forest Gump. (Note included monster)— > http://i.ytimg.com/vi/AHlXrH4NRdM/hqdefault.jpg

  2. Charlie, thanks very much! Just wait to see the movie of my upcoming book “Soloman”. You might elevate me above Robert Redford and his “All is lost” role. Since it is a solo role again I can’t promise you a part in it but I promise you we’ll go raise a little hell in Saigon on the royalties……

I forget how to add comments here but I have talked by e mail with you . I hope the movie deal works out .I sure would like to see Saigon once more.I hope they are laying out the red carpet for us.Humm ,Yes I guess it would be red. But they are tolerable Reds.Unlike North Koreans who want to educate visitors.

Just googled your name and I was amazed at what I discovered, appears that you’ve had quite an adventure since I saw you last. Have fond memories of the time I spent crewing for you. Saw the picture of the 1980 Swiftsure inaugural race,on the new boat, leaning off the portside rail, quite the trip. Glad to see that you’re still sailing, looking well. Here in eastern Washington, growing wheat and raising cattle, not nearly as exciting as some of your adventures. Take care,Bryan.
