Saturday, November 29. The best dressed shipwreck survivor.

Yesterday Vincent van Liempt came and picked me up in Sa Carlos and took me to lunch on the Ibiza waterfront and showed me town of Ibiza. He is the cousin of my longtime Dutch American friend, Evert, who lives in Eugene. Vincent studied at the University of Oregon in Corvalis around the same time that I met Evert, in the early seventies. Vince manufacturers and retails his own brand of top of the line men’s clothing “Victor”. The retail and hospitality business here are for the most part the four summer months. Victor brought me a very welcome care package of dress shirts, casual slacks a pair of shoes, sweater, warm parka, socks, undershorts, etc. I have never looked so good. Today I stayed indoors most of the day. The owner of the restaurant was a pain today. They were already all set up for, what looked like, a wedding party where I normally connect my laptop to the few outlets. He would not let me sit in the bar with my laptop. Others have commented that he is a difficult man to get along with. His wife, who runs the kitchen and the apartments I am in, is a sweetheart. Unfortunately their Wi-Fi signal does not reach my apartment, not even with my antenna.  So, I may need to go out in the cold to send this. The party is still going.

I plan to go to 9.30 mass at St. Vincent. And will meet Pierre and Marinique there again and the ones I met last Sunday after mass.
